Industry NewsAzerbaijan posts 7.9% growth in GDP per capita last year
GDP per capita in Azerbaijan reached AZN 3 917 (USD 4 874) in 2009, said Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said in his report at a government meeting presided over by the President.
According to him, GDP growth rate was 9.3% up from 2008, and GDP per capita was up 7.9% year-on-year.
He also noted that average salary in the country increased by 6,8% year-on-year to AZN 298.
"It is important to note that during the reporting period the value of manat (national currency) remained stable and inflation stood at 1.5%",” he added.
